What equipment / supplies are provided by the Academy?

Any textbook that is required in high school will be available for check out and must be returned at the end of the school year. A document camera will also be available for check out and must be returned at the end of the school year All other books / curriculum can be purchased from the Academy at an additional cost averaging $300 per grade level and are shipped directly to your home. Families are also able to purchase / find curriculum / books on their own if they prefer. Complete lists will be provided after applications have been submitted. Families are expected to provide a laptop and internet connectivity that meets these specs.
Do scholars need to wear the John Adams Academy uniform?

Yes. Scholars are expected to wear their uniform polo for all LIVE interaction including classes and video recordings. A full uniform will be required for participation in any on-campus enrichment, gatherings and field trips.

How much time does my scholar spend each day doing online instruction and independent work?

Scholars will average between 1-2 hours per week in LIVE class per course depending upon grade level. The rest of the section is fine.
How are special education and accommodations handled?

Is your online program accredited outside of California?

Accreditation cannot be granted until scholars are enrolled in the program. Once our program opens in the fall of 2025 we will pursue accreditation through Cognia.
