Casey Wood is excited to continue exploring the Academy's Core Values and Vision & Mission with our community, as well as sharing her love of the classics with scholars. Mrs. Wood always looks forward to discussing the great ideas our classic literature invokes and to mentoring scholars through these timeless texts. Mrs. Wood loves how JAA brings scholars together online to create community and extend our American Classical Leadership Education model to families near and far.
She has a deep love for classic children's literature, and it is her goal to read (or re-read) all of the classics JAA utilizes in the elementary curriculum. Beyond children’s literature she has an adoration for the wit and satire of Miss Jane Austen, especially her second novel, Pride and Prejudice. One of her favorite quotes is:
"'We start learning the minute we're born, Laura. And if we're wise, we don't stop until the Lord calls us home.'" --Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House on the Prairie
She looks forward to filling every school year with inspiration, joy, wonder, and growth for the scholars.
Mrs. Wood lives in Idaho with her husband and their two mini long-hair Dachshunds, Watson and Mulligan. In her spare time, she enjoys spending time with friends and family, reading, and painting.
