Alicia Dixon

Instructional Aide

Previously an Instructional Aide at John Adams Academy in-person program, Alicia Dixon spent four of those years in our site-based program working in various grades and in many capacities. Prior to her employment with the academy, she was a parent.  She chose a John Adams Academy education for her children because this education model aligned with her family’s values. Spending countless hours volunteering in the classroom and on campus, Alicia knew she wanted to be part of instilling a love for learning and modeling for scholars how we can live out core values every day.

The quote “Education is not the learning of facts but training the mind to think.” from Albert Einstein sums up Mrs. Dixon’s view of how we mentor at John Adams Academy. Mrs. Dixon finds joy whenever a scholar gets that “Aha” moment in Colloquium or a smile of excitement in the “good things” small group exercises. When not at school, Mrs. Dixon can be found serving at church, baking, or going on day trips with her family.
