Shane Schulthies has an extensive background in academics. After earning a B.S. in Athletic Training, an M.S. in Physical Therapy, and a Ph.D. in Exercise Science, he spent 13 years teaching and conducting research in Athletic Training at Brigham Young University (BYU). While at BYU, he received training in research ethics and served as the Chair of the Internal Review Board for the Human Subjects Committee. 

Shane later left BYU to pursue coursework for a second Ph.D. in Constitutional Law. He went on to work at George Wythe College for nine years, where he taught a variety of courses in Western Civilization. Afterward, he became the first Headmaster at John Adams Academy (JAA), simultaneously teaching Government, Economics, and Political Philosophy. 

Following his tenure at JAA, Shane worked in physical therapy in Idaho for eight years. He returned to JAA in 2020 and now serves as Director of Curriculum and Instruction, mentoring JAA deans and teachers in the Academy’s educational model. Shane and his wife, Kimberly, are proud parents of 10 children and grandparents to 12 grandchildren.
