With a passion for teaching as vibrant as her rural North Carolina homestead, Mrs. Johnson has spent the last twenty years bringing science to life for middle and high school scholars. She holds both undergraduate and graduate degrees in secondary education from Commonwealth University and Southern New Hampshire University, where her love for science grew from a deep curiosity about the natural world and a desire to pass along that sense of wonder and discovery to her scholars.
Mrs. Johnson chose to join John Adams Academy Online because of its commitment to classical learning and its mission to cultivate servant-leaders who embody wisdom, virtue, and truth. She values the opportunity to connect with scholars in meaningful ways—helping them grow not only in academic knowledge but also in character. She has found the JAA Online community to be uniquely supportive and inspiring, and she is excited about the Academy’s ability to reach and connect with families across great distances.
A lover of literature as well as science, Mrs. Johnson counts A Tale of Two Cities and Little Women among her favorite classics. Both stories continue to inspire her with their timeless lessons on resilience, sacrifice, and the strength of family bonds.
Outside the classroom, life is equally full and lively. Mrs. Johnson enjoys relaxing evenings watching TV with her patient husband, staying busy with their four children, volunteering with local animal rescues, and caring for her ever-growing menagerie of dogs, goats, guineas, turkeys, chickens, and ducks. Her homestead serves as a daily reminder of the beauty, complexity, and interconnectedness of the world—a perspective she weaves into her teaching with enthusiasm and joy.
