Kindergarten

  • Humanities

    In this course, scholars learn foundational knowledge in English language arts, history, classic literature, and science studies. Logic of English and New American Cursive is the curriculum used for English language arts. Core Knowledge is the curriculum used in history and science. Classic literature is composed of classic childhood tales, fairy tales, stories and chapter books that align with the Academy’s core values.

  • Math

    In this course, scholars learn foundational knowledge in math and how to think and wonder like a mathematician using the Singapore Math Method. Think!Mathematics is the curriculum used in this course. Our approach in teaching math is exploratory and builds foundational number sense and algebraic thinking.

  • Latin

    In this course, scholars are introduced to the Latin language through song, stories, and art. Content designed by the University of Dallas is the curriculum used in this course.

  • Art

    In this course, scholars are introduced to the elements of art as well as artists and masterpieces that have influenced our heritage over time. Mentors use the Core Knowledge sequence as a guide in building their own content.

  • Elementary School Online Physical Education (P.E)

    This John Adams Academy - Elementary School Online Physical Education Course provides scholars the opportunity to learn through a developmentally appropriate, comprehensive, and sequentially planned online physical education program aligned with the State Standards. The focus of this course is the development of manipulative skills, movement knowledge, and the assessment and maintenance of physical fitness to improve health and promote a desire for a healthy lifestyle. Scholars will engage in movement and fitness activities at moderate to vigorous levels followed by activity assessments, fitness testing, goal setting, and self-evaluation.

  • Music

    In this music class, elementary scholars are introduced to the foundational elements of music, including rhythm, melody, and harmony, as well as composers and musical masterpieces that have shaped our cultural heritage. Mentors use the Core Knowledge sequence as a guide to create engaging and enriching content tailored to inspire a love of music and creativity in young learners.
