Logic of English and New American Cursive is the curriculum used for English language arts. Core Knowledge is the curriculum used in history and science. Classic literature is composed of classic childhood tales, fairy tales, stories and chapter books that align with the Academy’s core values.

  • Math

    In this course, scholars learn foundational knowledge in math and how to think and wonder like a mathematician using the Singapore Math Method. Think!Mathematics is the curriculum used in this course. Our approach in teaching math is exploratory and builds foundational number sense and algebraic thinking.

  • Latin

    In this course, scholars are introduced to the Latin language through song, stories, and art. Content designed by the University of Dallas is the curriculum used in this course.

First Grade

They learn about our American heritage, our John Adams Academy core values, and what it means to be a servant leader. Scholars develop relationships with their peers and mentors through activities that build a robust classroom culture.

    In this course, scholars learn foundational knowledge in English language arts, history, and classic literature. Well Ordered Language is the grammar curriculum used. Writing and Rhetoric is the writing curriculum used along with New American Cursive for English language arts. Core Knowledge and primary sources are the curriculum used in history. Classic literature is composed of beloved childhood classic books that align with the Academy’s core values. 

  • Math

    In this course, scholars study grade-level NGS (New Generation Science) science content and learn how to think and wonder like a scientist. Mentors use Envision Science and biographical studies in building their own content. 

  • Latin

    In this course, scholars are introduced to the Latin language. Mentors use Lingua Latina in building their own content.
